Hi there! Thanks for visiting my website!
I'm Andy Laws. I'm an obsessive sport watcher, talker and occasional writer. In addition to my thirst for all things sport, I also have interests in fashion, photography, technology, food and a good cup of coffee!
As a kid I was always somewhere around a Cricket field, whether it was watching my dad play (well getting mum to throw a ball at me endlessly whilst dad competed) or actually running round aimlessly in junior matches.
From there I received fantastic support in playing county age group Cricket alongside playing football, tennis and competing as a swimmer. However it was Cricket that eventually won.

I received a number of knock-backs due to physically developing late as a kid. I had two pro teams reject me but I stuck at it and was rewarded with an Academy Contract at Middlesex County Cricket Club at 17 years old.
I was fortunate enough to go on and play 2nd XI cricket at the county before being released, a sad result exacerbated by needing shoulder surgery.
But I dusted myself off and packed my bags for university in Leeds, where I continued my Cricket in partnership with gaining a degree.
After yet another injury set back, this time my back, I called it a day on the sporting front and focussed solely on a new career in Business and Marketing.

My parents spent my entire upbringing drilling into me to go above and beyond what is expected of you. Whilst not necessarily understanding this as a stroppy young teenager, I now live and breathe the motto 'always do more than the guy next to you'.
I have carried this into my career beyond the University and the cricket field and into marketing before heading back into education at Masters level. I am now studying Advertising & Marketing at University of Leeds, Business School and that motto has carried me a long way to being offered an unconditional place.

Through my time working in Cricket and business, I've taken the attitude of trying to work harder than anyone else, always looking to do more than required and combining it with an obsessive drive to succeed.
It's quite simple. Work hard to be provided an opportunity and grab it with both hands.
